How to Escalate and Reschedule Detentions

In this guide, we will show you how to Escalate or Reschedule Detentions from within a Detention Register. This process is possible once a Detention has been Scheduled and it has been given to at least one Student.

Access: The permissions required to access the area where you enable Detention Escalation and Rescheduling are found in the Behaviour Module of Config>Setup>Roles & Permissions. Teachers can Escalate or Reschedule Detentions in the Detention Register which Teachers access.

When a Teacher takes a Detention Register from the Lessons Dashboard or User Timetable area, they may have the option to Escalate or Re-schedule if this has been enabled in Config>Behaviour>Detentions>Schedule.

Escalation is possible when a Student misses a Detention with an Unauthorised Absence. While Rescheduling is possible when a Student misses a Detention with an Authorised Absence.

In order for the Teacher to Escalate to the next available slot in the example a Student has not attended the detention ensure BOTH the ‘Students marked as not having attended the detention will receive the following event’ and Enable Teacher Escalation are ticked. In the example below the event ‘Missed 15 Minute Detention’ has been linked to a 30 minute detention which is also scheduled.
