How to Allow Notifications on Chrome or Edge

To receive Alerts using Chrome or Edge you will be asked to Allow or Block Notifications. In some cases the Notification Permission will be denied on your Browser. The following information will help you if this should happen.

Chrome

By default, Chrome alerts you whenever a Website, App, or Extension wants to send you Notifications. You can change this setting at any time.

If you’re browsing in Incognito mode you will NOT receive Notifications.

Updating from the MIS website

To Allow site Notifications on Chrome, follow these steps:

  • Open Chrome
  • Navigate to the MIS website
  • Click the Padlock icon next to the website link in the address bar
  • Move the Notifications toggle button On
  • Alternatively click on Site settings
  • Change the option to the right of Notifications to Allow

Updating when not on the MIS website

  • On your computer, open Chrome 
  • At the top right, click More (3 dots) > Settings  
  • Click Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Notifications
  • Under the Allowed to send notifications option look for the website.
  • If the website is not listed, click on the Add button and enter the website URL in the pop-up box and click Add

The website will now be listed to receive Notifications.

  • If the website is listed under Not allowed to send notifications
  • Click on the 3 dots to the right and select Allow

The website will now be listed to receive Notifications.

Edge

Updating from the MIS website

To Allow site Notifications on Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

  • Open Microsoft Edge
  • Navigate to the MIS website
  • Click the Padlock icon next to the website link in the address bar
  • Click the Permissions for this Site option
  • Use the Notifications dropdown menu to Allow Permission

The website will now be listed to receive Notifications.

Updating when not on the MIS website

To Allow site Notifications on Microsoft Edge, use these steps:

  • On your computer, open Edge
  • At the top right, click More (3 dots) > Settings  
  • Click Cookies and site permission > Notifications
  • If the website is not listed, under the Allow section, click on the Add button and enter the website URL in the pop-up box and click Add.

The website will now be listed to receive Notifications.

  • If the website is listed under the Block section
  • Click on the 3 dots to the right and select Allow

The website will now be listed to receive Notifications.
