Preparing for the End of Year
The End of Year process can be completed at any point during the current academic year; however, it is best carried out once the data being entered is no longer subject to change.
Ensure that the necessary permissions are in place for all relevant menu items (Administrators have access by default) and that the Current Interval of the MIS is set to ‘Nucleus’.
For further guidance, refer to How to get started with Roles & Permissions and How to use My Account.
There is no standalone End of Year function. Instead, the process involves creating and configuring the Curriculum and Calendar components for the forthcoming academic year. All relevant steps should be followed in sequence.
Before starting, it is recommended that the current academic year is tidied and that agreement is reached with colleagues on what should carry forward. Consider the following:
- Will Heads of Year (or equivalent) and associated staff move up with their year group?
- What will this year’s Tutor Groups be called next year? Will they retain the same House, staff, and/or room?
- Have the end dates for current Classes and Tutor Groups been checked? All Teaching Classes must have an end date before the end of the academic year. If Tutor Groups are end-dated annually (recommended), these must also have end dates within the current academic year. For further guidance, refer to How to Bulk Edit Group End Dates for Teaching Class and Tutor Group.
End of Year Dashboard
The End of Year Dashboard provides a way to track the status of End of Year tasks. Further information about the dashboard and guidance on how to use it can be found here.

Access: The minimum permissions required to view/access the End of Year Dashboard is found in the Profile Module of Config>Setup>Roles & Permissions.
