Use this guide to resolve School Census Error 4064
DfE Validation:
- Pupils with <FSMCategory> equal to <FSMCategory>’EFSM’ must have a <FSMStartDate> of 2026-08-01 or later
- The FSM expansion cohort started on 1 August 2026, so the expanded FSM could not begin earlier than this date.
Explanation:
- Students who have an FSM Category set to EFSM (Expanded Free School Meals) must have an FSM Start Date of 2026-08-01 or later

Navigate to Students > select Student(s) View>Meal & Transport
In the Meal & Transport panel click on the required record
Click the far right pencil icon to edit or view the record
Complete the fields as required, any fields marked with an * asterisk must be completed to save the record.
Click Save.

IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
