How to Manage Dietary Needs in Bromcom

Note: The information in this guide is only applicable to Schools in Northern Ireland

This guide looks at the following areas within Bromcom in relation to Student Dietary Needs for Northern Ireland Schools.

Student Profile

Access: the minimum permissions required to access Dietary Needs within the Student Profile>Health Background are found in the Framework Module drop down from Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions

Permissions

Within the Student Profile users can view a student’s Dietary Needs through a dedicated icon. Hovering over the Dietary Needs icon displays a tooltip listing all Dietary Needs recorded for the student.

Actions in Clubs and Trips

Access: the minimum permissions required to access Groups>Actions>Attendance within Groups are found in the Framework Module drop down from Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions

Groups Permissions

Go to Groups>Clubs & Trips click to select the Club or Trip and from the Actions drop down select Attendance.

When taking Attendance and choosing to Add/Remove Additional Data to the Attendance panel the Medical Conditions and Dietary Needs information is separated into individual columns. These columns can be added or removed using the Add/Remove Additional Data option.

Administration Reports

Access: the minimum permissions required to access Administration>Reports are found in the Administration Module drop down from Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions.

Permissions

Note that Medical Conditions and Dietary Needs appear as separate sections within the following built in Administration reports:

  • Staff Data Check Report
  • Student Data Check Report
  • Student Emergency Information
  • Subject Access Requests Data (Student and Staff)

Go to Reports>Administration to see these four reports.

Kitchen Statistics Report

Access: the minimum permissions required to access Reports>Dinners>Kitchen Statistics are found in the Dinner Module drop down from Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions

Note that the following Medical Conditions and Dietary Needs options are separate tick boxes on the Enter Report Parameter options.

  • Include Medical Conditions List
  • Include Dietary Needs List
  • Hide Medical Conditions on Student/ Staff Details Pages
  • Hide Dietary Needs on Student/ Staff Details Pages

Example Report

To use the options Hide Medical Conditions on Student/Staff Details Pages and/or Hide Dietary Needs on Student/Staff Details Pages, users must first select Include Student Details and/or Include Staff Details.
