Use this guide to build a report to display the number of households in your school.
Note: This guide is dependent on all Siblings being linked correctly, and Mailing Point having been updated accordingly. If these steps haven’t been taken, the figures will be inaccurate. For more information on linking siblings, please see How to Link Siblings, and for more information on updating Mailing Points please see How to Carry Out Administration Housekeeping Tasks.
Access: The minimum permissions required to access Quick Reports can be found in the Reporting module from within Config > Setup > Roles & Permissions.

In addition, you will also need the below Report Design Permissions which can be found in the People – Students domain.

Go to Reports > Quick Report > Quick Report. (For customers who have been with Bromcom longer, this pathway may instead be Reports > Ad Hoc > Quick Report)

From the dropdown at the top select Students.

First, we need to add Student Names to the Report, to do this, click the Arrow to the right of the Personal Information option in the Data Items panel.

In the pop-up that appears, expand the Names and Photo option by clicking on the black arrow to the left of it, then use the tick boxes to select the format you would like to use for Student Name, you can also select any other fields you would like to include. Once you’re happy click Add.

Next, we need to add the Mailing Point data item to the Report. You can scroll to find it in the list, alternatively you can use the search bar at the top and select it from the dropdown.

The final Data Item we’re going to add is Siblings, to do this search Sibling in the search bar and select the Siblings option with the category Student Miscellaneous Information.

You can continue adding Data Items until you have all the information you require.
Next, we’re going to filter to only those Students who are assigned the Mailing Point. This is because only one child per household should be assigned as a Mailing Point so we can use this to measure how many households there are in the School. To do this, hover over the Mailing Point column header and click the 3 lines.

In the Filter Options untick Select All, then tick Yes, and click Apply.

Once you’re happy with your report, click Save in the top left.

In the pop-up, enter a Report Title and Report Description then select a Folder and click Save.

Then click Run.

At the bottom of the Mailing Point column, you’ll see a Count, this is the number of households currently recorded at the school.
