If you have run your SWF Census and are finding this error against some of your staff, you can take the steps contained in this guide to resolve the Error.

Where Base Pay is present and not zero, please see associated CBDS entry for field format and/or allowed values.
Resolution
Go to the staff member’s record and select the Contracts tab.
Once you are there, double click on the Contract that is active as of the SWF Census Reference Date.
Note: You may also need to check any Contract/Role that is active during the School Workforce Census Collection date range. You can do this by changing the Contracts – Current dropdown to Contracts – Show All.
This will enable you to check if a Staff member has Inactive Contracts that could resolve this Error.
Once you have double clicked on the contract, this will open the Contracts detail window, click on the Pay tab and press the Pencil icon to view the Pay.
In the next screen, you need to make sure that the Base Pay and Spine Point are both set.
Note: This will ONLY be relevant if the Contract is using a Base Pay that includes Spine Points. If no Spine Point is present and you instead see the Staff members Pay on this page, then please check that it is valid.
If you see a Spine Point in the Contract then make a note of these and then navigate to Config>Administration>Base Pay Structure and find the Base Pay Structure that this staff member is on (Teacher – Main for example).
Double click on the Base Pay Structure or select it and press Edit.
Once the Base Pay Structure is open, select the Version the Staff members Contract is under, the Spine Point Group and then the Spine Point section on the bottom right.
Note: You may need to check different Versions active for the School Workforce Census
You need to make sure that Spine Points with Values are present, particularly the Spine Point that the staff member is assigned to and that the Base Pay is in a valid format. Format for example must be 999999.99 maximum
If you make any changes here, scroll to the top of the page and press Save.
IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear
