How to Configure Reports for MyChildAtSchool

Note: All pages below are subject to having relevant Roles and Permissions.

From the left Menu go to Config > MyChildAtSchool > Reports.

This will open the Report Settings page, enter your Settings.

  • Enable Report Module – choose whether it will be Enabled or not, Enabled will display the Widget on the Parent Portal
  • Report Module Title – choose the Title for the module
  • Report Module Module Subtitle – choose the Subtitle for the module
  • No Data Existing Message – enter a message to be displayed when there are no Reports to be displayed
  • Colour of Message – select a colour for the No Data Existing Message
  • Show year & term details on report file name – will add the Year and Term details to the Report name if selected.
  • Enable Parent Comments – If ticked, it allows parents to comment on all school reports by clicking on a new speech bubble icon in MCAS. See below. Schools must also have the Give Parents the option to contact the school through MCAS Admin checkbox ticked in Config > MyChildAtSchool > Notification Settings.

When you’re finished, click Save.

Enable parents to comment on reports

MCAS > Dashboard > Reports and MCAS > Reports

When Enable Parent Comments is ticked in the Report Settings popup above, a speech bubble icon will be displayed against every row in the Reports tables in MCAS. Clicking the icon will display a Comments popup that allows parents to comment on the report. Clicking Send will submit the comment. A confirmation message will be displayed to say that the comment has been submitted, with a View button that links to the user’s inbox with the conversation thread displayed. After submission, the speech bubble icon will be replaced with an Inbox icon. Click the Inbox icon to open the relevant inbox conversation.

The comment is saved in the database and is visible to staff in Modules > MyChildAtSchool > Administration > Received Messages. See How to view MCAS Received Messages
