Refer to a Member of Staff
Go to Config > Administration > Safeguarding Alert Configuration.

First, tick Enable Safeguarding Alerts.

Next, in the Alert Types section tick which communication methods you would like to use to send the Alerts.
In the Refer to Member of Staff section click Add Staff.

Within the Staff Selector you can use the filters on the left hand side to refine your selection, then select the required Staff Members by clicking on them once to highlight them, then click Done in the top right hand corner of the top up.

The selected Staff will then appear in a Selection List.

Once you’re happy with your selections, click Save in the top left hand corner.

Going forward if a Safeguarding Alert is logged the selected Staff Members and the Safeguarding Practitioners will receive an alert to let them know an Incident has been logged and for which Student.
Note: If a Safeguarding Incident is logged by a Staff Member who is nominated to receive Safeguarding Alerts the Safeguarding Alert will not be delivered to that Staff Member, however all other nominated Staff will receive the alert.

Refer to Roles
Administrators can assign safeguarding alerts to specific roles (as well as individual members of staff), ensuring that the right roles in the school are notified of incidents relevant to their responsibilities.
IMPORTANT : The Refer to Role(s) field allows users to select Deputy Head of Year and/or Head of Year to receive the alert. When a role is selected, all staff members assigned to that role will receive the alert. Please note, this field is not selected by default.
Tip: We recommend reviewing the staff members assigned as Deputy Head of Year in Groups > Year Groups under Associated Staff in the Group details page to ensure the relevant people are set up.
Note: Alert Recipients has been relabelled to Refer to Member of Staff in this release.
