How to use Communication Preferences in the MCAS App

Parents can choose their preferred Communication Language for all SMS/Email and Quick Letter correspondence from the school in the MCAS App.

Communication Language is displayed in Settings > Preferences, where parents can select a Language as their preferred communication that will be used in translation in the following areas:

  • Send SMS/Email
  • Quick Letters

Important: At this time, the following communication methods will not be translated:

  • Watchlist Communications
  • Messages sent via Modules > Communications > Received Messages
  • Messages sent via Modules > MyChildAtSchool > Received Messages
  • MCAS Announcements

The example screenshots in this guide are for illustration purposes only and may differ from the view in your App, your school will configure what you are able to see the in App.

Click on the top right Settings cog.

Click on the arrow for Communication Language.

  • The default Language is ‘Not Selected’. 

Choose your Preferred Communication Language from the available drop downs.

Note:

  • The Preferred Communication Language section will only be visible if the Enable Preferred Communication Language Selection for Parents checkbox is enabled in the school MIS.
  • Preferred Communication Language will remain an editable dropdown, meaning parents can update their language preferences at any point in the future.
