How to Use Require Record Review for Behaviour Events.

When setting up Behaviour Events you have the option to Require Record Review, this means that until the Record is marked as having been Reviewed it is Hidden from MCAS and Student Portal. It can be useful for more serious Behaviour Events that Require a Review before being made available to Parents or Students.

In this guide we’ll look at which settings impact this, how you can set up a Behaviour Event to Require Record Review and how you can then Review the behaviour event.

Access: The minimum permissions required to access Event Records can be found in the Behaviour module from within Config > setup > Roles & Permissions.

Behaviour Configurations

Go to Config > Behaviour > Configurations

Pathway

In the Configurations panel, ensure that Do not process events until Review Completed for Review Required Events is ticked.

If this is left unticked the Events will be processed as normal regardless of whether Require Record Review is ticked within the Behaviour Event.

For more information on Behaviour Configurations please see How to Setup Configurations for Behaviour .

Important Notes

  • There is no way to designate a specific Staff Member who will need to Review the Behaviour Records. Any member of staff with the Permissions shown at the beginning of this guide will be able to access and review Behaviour Events that Require Record Review. It may be necessary to Review your Permissions if you want to limit access to specific Staff Members.
  • There is no automatic notification that a Behaviour Event requires review, so if you do wish to notify specific Staff Members you may wish to either set up Event Alerts or use Referral Recipients for the Events that Require Record Review. For information on how to set up Alerts please see How to Create a Behaviour Event Alert. For more information on Referral Recipients please see How to Create a New Behaviour Event.
