MIS Login Error FAQ

Use this guide to investigate Login Errors when the user is logging in to Bromcom.

You may need to speak to the person at your school or trust who has access to Roles and Permissions in order to follow this guide.

For more information on Roles and Permissions and User Accounts see the guidance below.

  • How to Get Started with Roles and Permissions
  • How to Edit/Delete a Role
  • How to Create a Bromcom User Account

Q. When a user attempts login in they get the message ‘Your role is not assigned to any date range please contact your administrator’.
A. This could be that the Role you have assigned the user does not have access to any of the Framework options such as Student or Staff under Roles and Permissions.

To check this go to Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions

Pathway

Choose the relevant Role from the Roles dropdown.

Roles

Click Edit.

Edit

From the Module dropdown choose Framework.

Module>Framework

Then check the chosen Role has the required Student and/or Staff Permissions.

Once you have checked the Permissions for the Role click Save.

Q. When a user attempts login in they either get the message ‘Your account is not authorised to login from this IP address’ OR ‘Error 0′

A. For the two scenarios above make sure that the User Account has a Role allocated to them.

To do this click Others on the left hand menu and then from the top right Type drop down choose User Account .

Groups>User Account>View

Click on the required User Account (it will highlight blue) and click the top left View.

View

This will open the Modules>Setup> System Users screen for the selected User Account.

In the User Login Details panel check the User has at least one Role* selected.

Click the top left Save.
