Use this guide to resolve School Census Error 2378
Error 2378:
- DfE Validation: Where <LeavingDate> is present within <SchoolArrangedAPDetail> node, this must fall between the following dates (inclusive):
- Autumn census: 2026-05-21 and 2026-09-30 (inclusive)
- Spring census: 2026-10-01 and 2027-01-20 (inclusive)
- Summer census: 2027-01-21 and 2027-05-19 (inclusive)
- Explanation: Go to Students>Student Profile>Enrolment>Alternative Provision Details>Select Record, and where present check the Date of Leaving Alternative Provision is between the following Census dates.
- Autumn census: 2026-05-21 and 2026-09-30 (inclusive)
- Spring census: 2026-10-01 and 2027-01-20 (inclusive)
- Summer census: 2027-01-21 and 2027-05-19 (inclusive)

Go to Students>Students Profile>Enrolment>Alternative Provision Details
In the Add Alternative Provision Details check the Date of Leaving alternative provision
Click Save if you make any amendments.
IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
