Use this guide to resolve School Census Error 2398

Error 2398:

• DfE Validation: Where <APPlacementPostcode> is present, it must be a valid format. Valid formats are:
  
  An nAA
  Ann nAA
  AAn nAA
  AAnn nAA
  AnA nAA
  AAnA nAA
  
  where ‘A’ is alphabetic and ‘n’ is numeric.
  
  Also valid:
  
  BFPO n
  BFPO nn
  BFPO nnn Postcode is invalid for a school arranged alternative provision (AP) placement
  
• Explanation: Go to Students>Student Profile>Enrolment>Alternative Provision Details, click the find button to locate the Alternative Provision School Name and choose Unknown School, then enter in the details>Postcode. Check the Postcode is in the correct format and there are NO SPACES after the Postcode. Click Save.

Go to Students>Students Profile>Enrolment>Alternative Provision Details

In the Add Alternative Provision Details check the find button to the right of Alternative Provision School Name to Search for School

Then choose Unknown School in the bottom right hand corner

This will return you to the main page where you can type in the School Name and UKPRN, then you can enter the School information and Postcode. Ensure the Postcode is in the valid format and there are no spaces after the postcode.

IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
