Use this guide to resolve School Census Query 1883Q
Error 1883Q: AUTUMN RETURN ONLY
DfE Validation:
- For PupilsOnRoll where <NCyearActual> is not equal to ‘R’ or 12 and <EntryDate> is after 2024-07-31 (the end of the previous academic year) then <SessionsPossible> in the summer second half term module should not be present
- Please check entry date as the sessions possible indicate that the pupil attended the school during the second half of the summer term. If the pupil left and was subsequently readmitted, the query will be accepted by DfE on condition that a suitable explanatory notepad entry is provided.
Explanation:
- This is for Students on roll and NOT IN National Curriculum Year Reception or Year 12.
- Please check the Students Entry date/Enrolment record as the sessions possible indicate that the Student attended the school during the second half of the summer term. Go to Students>View>Student Profile>Enrolment>School History.
- To check the Student Attendance Record go to Reports>Attendance>Attendance Certificate>Students>set date ranges> Preview
- If everything is correct you can add a validation note for queries on COLLECT

To check Student Enrolment go to Students>Select Student(s)>View then click the Enrolment tab on the left.
To check the Students Attendance Record go to Reports>Attendance>Attendance Certificate>Students
In Report for choose Student and then either type in the Student name or click the Find button to open the full Student Selector list if you want to select multiple Students
Click Preview.
IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
