Use this guide to resolve PLASC Error 12831
Error 12831:
- Welsh Government Validation: National Identity must be present if DOB is on or before 31 August 2020
- Explanation: Pupil (aged 5 or over) with pupil national identity missing

Select Students from the menu on the left.
Select the Student or Students indicated in the error from the list, and click View.
Use the drop down in the top right of the Pupil Details panel to select Ethnicity, Religion & Language.
Click on the + icon top right to Add and select Ethnicity, Religion or Languages.
Ethnicity
Within the Ethnicity tab you can view/add or amend the students National Identity* choosing from the drop down choices.
As the National Identity field is marked with an * asterisk this means you will need to complete the field in order to Save the record.
Remember to click Save if you make any changes.
IMPORTANT: In order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
