Use this guide to resolve PLASC Errors 12841, 12842 & 12843
Error 12841:
- Welsh Government Validation: Language must be present if DOB is on or before 31 August 2020
- Explanation: Pupil (aged 5 or over) with language missing
Error 12842:
- Welsh Government Validation: Language Source must be present if DOB is on or before 31 August 2020
- Explanation: Pupil (aged 5 or over) with language source missing
Error 12843:
- Welsh Government Validation: Language Type must be present if DOB is on or before 31 August 2020
- Explanation: Pupil (aged 5 or over) with language type missing

Select Students from the menu on the left.
Select the Student or Students indicated in the error from the list, and click View.
Use the drop down in the top right of the Pupil Details panel to select Ethnicity, Religion & Language.
Click on the + icon top right to Add and select Ethnicity, Religion or Languages.
Languages
Use the Languages tab to view/edit or add Language, Language Type or Language Source using the drop down choices
All fields marked with an asterisk * must be completed in order to Save the record.
Remember to click Save if you make any changes.
IMPORTANT: In order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
