How to use Merge Attendance

In this guide we will cover how you can Merge Attendance from a Leaver Student onto the Attendance Record of a Current Student. This is usually used to reconcile duplicate Student Records.

Access: The minimum permissions required to access Merge Attendance can be found in the Attendance module from within Config > Setup > Roles and Permissions.

Note: This process can only copy Attendance from a Student who has been processed as a Leaver, to a Student who is currently On Roll.

Go to Modules > Attendance > Merge Attendance

Pathway

Press the blue Magnifying Glass next to the Target Student field. The Target Student is the Student Record that is currently On Roll that you would like to Merge the Attendance records on to.

This will open the Student Selector. Use the filters on the left to refine your search, pressing Find to update the list.

Select the Target Student by clicking on them once to highlight them, then click Done.

Their name will now appear in the Target Student field.

Next, click the Magnifying Glass next to the Source Student field.

This will open the Student Selector. This time, the Student Selector will default to show only Leaver Students. Find and select your Source Student (this is the Leaver Student record who’s Attendance you would like to Merge on to the Target Student’s record) using the filters to refine your search if necessary. Once you have selected your Source Student, click Done.

Once you’re happy with your selections, click Merge in the top left hand corner.

Click Proceed on the following warning.

Confirmation

You will then see a message confirming the number of Attendance Records that have been updated. Click OK to complete the process.
