What is the KS4 Performance Dashboard?
The Key Stage 4 Performance Dashboard is designed to give users Snapshots of KS4 Exam and Assessment performance at the click of a button. All key performance indicators are covered in line with the published DfE measures. Schools have multiple options to analyse data whether for intervention or student tracking purposes and management of the data is straightforward. In addition to all key measures of progress and attainment, it also has two powerful query options for instantly identifying student individual performance against DfE estimates or the school’s own targets. The data is drawn directly from Bromcom’s own exam or assessment modules without the need to download and manipulate data before trying to analyse it. In addition to all headline measures, each performance area: progress, attainment, EBacc entry and achievement, English and maths attainment at grades 5 and 4, as well as a dedicated comparison of disadvantaged students for diminishing the difference, all add to the power of the output. A set of quick measures for reference completes the dashboard and this area includes subject analysis, enabling leaders to drill down to see performance analysis by subject, class and student. All charts on the dashboard expand to reveal associated students who each can be selected individually to inspect their individual performance and progress.

Features and Benefits
Feature | What it does | Benefits |
KS4 Cohort Definition | Allows user to define the year group cohort for performance analysis | School can include or exclude students from the year group cohort Permits what-if scenarios when combined with datasets Enables analysis of all key stage year groups for assessment |
KS2 Fine Level Review | Enables schools to view and update system held KS2 prior attainment | School has control over who is included in the performance measures |
KS4 Attainment Estimates | Allows all progress calculations to be completed | School can use system provided DfE definitions or can add their own versions |
KS4 Headline Figures Grade Mapping | Allows schools to exclude “non-performance” grades and use their own fine grades | Assessment data can be interpreted like exam results. Enables markset mapping as if it were a gradeset School can use its own grades DfE values are consistently applied |
Subject Mapping | All assessment subjects require a related QN to be included in analysis | Assessment data follows the same discounting rules as exams |
Markset Mapping | Enables integers and decimals to be used in analysis | Integers and decimals can be used in analysis – see above |
Timetabled Subject Mapping | Schools can add “Not Same as Template” subjects for class analysis | Where the assessment subject is not timetabled, this data can still be analysed by class. |
KS4 Headline Figures Dataset Management | School creates datasets for Key Stage 4 cohorts for either exams or assessment | School creates datasets based on the KS4 cohort definition and associated attainment estimates Focus on Assessment or exams results both of which are drawn directly from the system with minimal set up* Assessment aliases allow multiple assessment types to be returned as a single entity thus permitting OData and ad hoc reporting in addition Simple refresh option to update any changes to data Refresh option allows user to update a single dataset without affecting others Simple copy function to create comparison datasets Centralised control Dataset “snapshots” are applied on the dashboard to produce instant output *Users on old assessment structure must still do data analysis transfer |
KS4 Performance Dashboard Settings | School decides what it wants to display on the dashboard | Simple snapshot selection Comparison against compatible cohort snapshot (same year group) Comparison controlled by main snapshot to retain data consistency Optional contextual cohorts Customisable User-defined Cohorts Automatic creation of the converse custom cohort tagged with “Non-“ Customisable band thresholds for Pupil Progress panel |
KS4 Dashboard | Displays all DfE performance measures with options to filter and drill down to student-related data | All headline measures displayed as overview tiles Progress, Attainment, EBacc and English and maths achievement headlines Comparison option for all measures Individual chart and filter options Cohort Information panel including default and optional cohorts Up to 11 cohorts displayed on the charts Cohort filter option to focus on a selected cohort Downloadable result broadsheets by grades or points Pupil Progress panel to identify students by progress band and band movement English and maths 5+/4+ Focus to identify student performance status against estimates and status movement Quick Measures tables including subject analysis plus additional progress and achievement tables Expandable charts with focus on selected student cohorts Student Individual Profile including Results and Subject Progress tabs All data downloadable Pdf options TBA |
