Information for Bromcom customers using consultancy and other 3rd parties.

School MIS and Finance systems are complex tools that Bromcom works hard to develop, maintain, and support. As we have grown, we have established and maintained critical partnerships with various service providers, whom we have official, accredited arrangements with, collectively and collaboratively supporting our customers.

These official arrangements are important to protect both Bromcom’s reputation and integrity, as well as that of any partners we work with, in the support and usage of the software. Any Bromcom customer choosing to work with an accredited partner can do so with the utmost assurance that their services are of the highest standard.

Individual Specialists

We recognise that schools or MATs may not always have all the expertise or staff at all times, and that it may be necessary to seek external assistance via 3rd parties to work with them for specific activities or times of the school year, e.g. freelance specialists to manage Timetables, or school accounting professionals to work on Bromcom Finance.

Necessary Training

Unless the external assistance is provided via an accredited support partner, individual personnel should be considered and treated as staff at the school and, as per our Support Desk Guide, are required to have been through necessary training which can be booked from our training pages.

Without having completed this training in advance and having the familiarisation, anyone contacting Bromcom may regrettably be denied assistance from our support teams.

Keeping data secure

When granting anyone the ability to raise support cases, as the Data Controller, schools and MATs should always consider what email addresses any 3rd party is registered under in both Bromcom’s software and on our Support Portal.

For example, the use of any individual email address (e.g. @gmail.com or @yahoo.co.uk) and one not registered to a school, MAT or local authority domain, means data shared between parties may be at significant risk.

Bromcom will always put data security first and, where we believe there to be a risk, may choose to scrutinise or deny service to any contact we deem to be a concern. We therefore urge all customers to provide an appropriate email account to anyone working for the school.
