Use this guide to manage the Learning Hours of Post 16 students. These are the expected Planned Qualification hours and Non-qualification hours that a student will be expected to be undertaking.
We recommend that you set these times up at the course level Groups > Courses and use this information to cascade down to the students that are members of the classes associated to the courses.
We are unable to provide guidance on what hours are to be entered. Please see the related DFE Census Data Items Guidance here.

Access: The minimum permissions required to manage Learning Hours is found under the Census Module of Config > Setup > Roles & Permissions
Pathway: Modules > Census > Learning Hours Maintenance
When the Learning Hours Maintenance page loads, you will be able to select the academic year required from the drop down list. Once selected, use the spy glass icon to search for the required students.
Once the Student Selector loads, you can choose to filter by Year Group or Class/Group to assist in finding the required students.
The screen will then load with your selection of students, these students are fictitious students from our test site. Using the Calculate button will pull through any hours that are held within Courses that have been linked to Classes with a Learning Aim.
You can also manually manage hours from this screen, ensuring you press Save when complete.
Note: The courses listed are calculated based on the student membership as at Autumn School census date for the chosen academic year. For students starting after this date the Planned hours will have to be input manually. Post 16 classes will require the appropriate Exam Level and Year Group.
