Use this guide to resolve the School Workforce Census Error 4516.

| 4516 | If <Post> is one of EXH, HDT, DHT, AHT, TCM, TCU, TCH, APP or LDP; AND, <ContractStart> is before 31 August of year prior to reference date; AND, <DailyRate> is not equal to ‘Y’; AND, <ContractType> =’PRM’ or ‘FXT’ or ‘TMP’; AND, <ContractEnd> is not present or is equal to or after census reference date; Then Pay Review Date must be present, AND must be after 31 August of year prior to reference date. | Teacher should have had a pay review since beginning of previous academic year. If they have not, please supply a reason in a return level note. |
Navigate to the staff member’s record.
Click the left hand Contracts tab and double click on the Contract that is active as of the SWF Census Reference Date.
Important: It may be necessary to check Inactive Contracts for this staff member to resolve this Error. Be prepared to check any Contracts that were Active from 01/09/2021, even if they are no longer Active.
This will open the Contract Information tab , which shows the Date of Last Pay Review.
The Error is being caused by the Pay Review Date either being missing or not being within the previous or current Academic Year.
Once the Date is present, as long as it is from the Last Academic Year or sooner, the Error should clear.
Click Save.
IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
