Unticked

The Behaviour Entry Form when opened in the MIS will remain unchanged.

Behaviour Entry Screen

New Style Behaviour Entry Form

If changing to the new style Behaviour Entry Form tick the box, this will allow you to Configure the way the Behaviour Entry Form will be displayed to Staff when adding a behaviour event against a student.

The names of the Event Types can be changed from Positive, Neutral and Negative by clicking on each and entering the new names.

The blue options can be hidden by clicking on the Eye icon and will display grey to show they are Hidden.

The new Behaviour Entry Form has two tabs, the blue options can be moved left and right so you can decide what will be displayed in each tab.

The Behaviour Entry Form when opened will be displayed with the changes you have made.

Configurations

Select your Configuration Settings from the options, hover on the i to see more information for each configuration.

Configurations
  • Do not process events until Review Completed for Review Required events  –  if the Event has been marked as requiring a Review, ticking this box will not show the Event within the system until the Review has been marked as complete Note: This can be used for example for a serious Behaviour Event that Senior Staff may like to review before it appears on the Students Record.
  • Define Separate Detention Schedule for each Year Group  –  if selected each Detention Type can also be scheduled by individual Year Groups with different members of Staff associated with each
  • Enable Rescheduling for Authorised Absences  –  if selected a Student with an Authorised Absence Code will automatically be rescheduled to the next Detention slot
  • Enable Event Entry for past dates in Behaviour Entry Page  –  selecting this option it will allow Teachers to enter retrospective Behaviour Events from the Register or Lesson Dashboard. If this is not selected the Behaviour Event will not allow Events to be backdated (this does not affect backdating of Events in other Behaviour Entry areas like the Student Details page or Behaviour Event Records page
  • Recalculate points on Event Deletion
    • When this configuration is ticked and an Event is Deleted, any active Action that is linked to the event will be Recalculated. For example, if you were to add an Event to a Student that had resulted in adding 2 points to an Action and the Event was then Deleted the Points Total related to the Action would be Recalculated and the 2 points contributing to the Action would be removed. If the event had also caused the action to trigger the Actioned Total would also be recalculated.
    • If the configuration is unticked, when a Behaviour Event is Deleted, the Points will not be Recalculated however any Actions that were triggered by the deleted Event will have the Actioned total returned to its previous value. For example, if you added an Event to a Student with a point value of 5, which caused the Action to trigger leaving a 3 point remainder. Before deleting the Event, the points contributed to the Action would be 3, and the Actioned total would be 1. After deleting the Event, the points contributing to the Action would still be 3 but the Actioned total would revert to 0.

Detention Scheduling

Detention Schedule
  • Detentions are scheduled to occur in  – Teaching SessionsNon-teaching Sessions – this determines which Periods the Detentions appear in, both can be selected if needed
  • Detentions will be scheduled at least xx days in advance  –  select how many days in advance Detentions are scheduled
  • Type of Cut-off TimeSingle Cut-off Time – Daily Cut-off Time – this sets the Cut-off Time for Scheduling. Please Note: Cut-off Time only applies where Detentions will be Scheduled at least XX days in advance is set to 0.

Add/Edit Attendance marks that can be used in Detention Review – In this section, you can select the Attendance Marks you wish to be used in the Detention Registers.

Attendance marks for detentions

Only Attendance Marks that are enabled in here will be available to use on Detention Registers. You need to ensure that you enable Attendance Marks with the relevant meanings for your Detention setup, for example;

  • You can only reschedule a Detention if the student receives an Authorised Absence Mark
  • You can only escalate a Detention if the student receives an Unauthorised Absence Mark

If you unsure which Meaning an Attendance Mark has, you can check the Code Meanings on the Attendance Code page, to do this from the left Menu go to Config > Attendance > Attendance Codes and check them.

Once all Behaviour Configurations have been set, click on the Save button.
