How to use Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

Use this guide to enable/disable Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for Specific Users and Specific Roles

If enabled when users login to Bromcom they will be asked to scan a QR code from a mobile device which will produce a number in an authentication app to enter on the login screen, thus giving users added security for accessing Bromcom.

Navigate to Config>Setup>Security Settings

Then tick to Enable Two Factor Authentication.

Click Save.

Enable and Save

This will Enable Two Factor Authentication for all users with the Administrator role.

Specific Users

To disable this function for specific users navigate to Modules>Setup>System Users.

Note: The function cannot be disabled for Users with the Administrator Role.

System Users

Select a User Account from the list and click View

Select User Account – View

If Two Factor Authentication is enabled untick Enable Two Factor Authentication for selected staff via their system user profile.

Click Save.

Enable Two Factor Authentication

Roles

If required Two Factor Authentication can be enabled/disabled for specific roles.

To do this Navigate to Config>Setup>Roles and Permissions and select the required Role

In this example the Teacher Role has been chosen

Click Edit

Then simply tick to enable Two Factor Authentication, click Save.

Logging In

If Two Factor Authentication is enabled then when the user logins they will be asked to Please scan below QR code with your Google Authenticator from a mobile device this will produce a code to enter in to Bromcom to complete the login process.

Click Activate.
