How to use Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

Use this guide to enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA), if enabled when users login to Bromcom they will be asked to scan a QR code from a mobile device which will produce a number in an authentication app to enter on the login screen, thus giving users added security for accessing Bromcom.

From the left go to Config>Setup>Security Settings

Then tick to Enable Two Factor Authentication.

Click Save.

This will Enable Two Factor Authentication for all users, if you need to disable this function for specific users then go to Modules>Setup>System Users

Select a User Account from the list and click View

If Two Factor Authentication is enabled you can choose to untick Enable Two Factor Authentication for selected staff via their system user profile. For example if you wanted Two Factor Authentication for teaching staff however, not for other office staff.

Click Save.

Enable Two Factor Authentication

If Two Factor Authentication is enabled then when the user logins they will be asked to Please scan below QR code with your Google Authenticator from a mobile device this will produce a code to enter in to Bromcom to complete the login process.

Click Activate.
