Introduction

Every Financial Year requires a Budget Scenario to allocate Cost Centres to. When adding a New Financial Year, a Budget Scenario is automatically created, and the Cost Centres are automatically added to it

How to Add a New Budget Scenario

Go to Module > Finance > Finance Home Page > Budgeting > Scenarios

Click New to add a New Budget Scenario

Complete the text boxes as required, paying attention to naming conventions. The Scenario Code must be alphanumeric

Note: All fields marked with an * are mandatory

If this Scenario is to be used as the Original Budget, check the Original Budget box. The Original Budget feeds through to all Budget Monitoring. Click Save when finished

Note: A New Scenario does not contain any data, it is a Blank Template

How to Rename a Budget Scenario

To rename a Budget Scenario, either Select it and click View/Edit, or Double Click on it. Make the necessary changes, then click Save, as above

Note: It is not possible to switch an already saved Budget Scenario from Budget to Forecast or vice versa. It is possible to change a Budget that was Not Original to Original, but not vice versa

How to Copy a Budget Scenario

Select the Scenario you wish to Copy, then click Copy

Complete the text boxes as required, paying attention to naming conventions. If this Scenario is to be used as the Original Budget, check the Original Budget box. Click Save when finished

Note: A Copied Scenario contains the same data as the Scenario from which it was copied, so unlike a New Scenario it is Not A Blank Template. A Copied Scenario can potentially save a lot of manual data entry

How to Delete a Budget Scenario

Select the Scenario to Delete, then click Delete

A warning is issued to confirm Deletion. Click Cancel or Continue, as appropriate

Note: Original Scenarios and Fixed Scenarios cannot be deleted
