How to change the Core Details of Destination Schools

In this guide we will look at how you can change the key information about Destination Schools, this process can also be used to update your own School’s Core Details.

Access: The minimum permissions required to access Schools can be found in the Administration module from within Config > Setup > Roles and Permissions.

Go to Config>Administration>Schools.

Pathway

Search for the School you would like to edit in the Select School field and select it from the dropdown. If you are trying to update your own School’s Core Details enter your School’s Name. Alternatively, you can click the Magnifying Glass to open the School Selector.

If using the Magnifying Glass to find a School, you can search by any of the fields on the left to narrow down the search or when looking for a School.

Just make sure you press Find to refresh the list based on the criteria you entered (Post Code/Town etc). Click on the School once to highlight it, then click Done to select it.

Once you have selected a School, you will have the ability to amend the Establishment Number, School URN and LEA if desired.

Once you are happy with the changes, press Save and this will update the core details for your School. (This is also how you amend the details for other Schools stored in your system).

Once the details are correct and you press Save, you should receive a success message.

If you are updating the Core Details of your own School, you can check that this has updated correctly by going to Config > Administration > Core Details.

Note: Please ensure the Details you are entering are correct. The correct details for new schools can be found at – https://www.get-information-schools.service.gov.uk/

If using the Magnifying Glass to find a School, you can search by any of the fields on the left to narrow down the search when looking for a School, if you do enter any information in the fields on the left, click Find to update the list.

Click on the School once to highlight it, then click Done to select it.

Once you have selected a School, you will have the ability to amend the School Name, DENI Number, Local Government District as well as other key details, if required.

Once you are happy with the changes, press Save and this will update the core details for the selected School (or your School if this is what you have selected).

Once the details are Saved successfully, you will receive confirmation in the top right hand corner.

Success

If you are updating the Core Details of your own School, you can check that this has updated correctly by going to Config > Administration > Core Details.
