How to View the Student Details Attendance Page

Note: All pages below are subject to having relevant Roles and Permissions.

This an overview of the Attendance section of the Student Details page displaying the following sections, Attendance By, Attendance Percentage for AM/PM, Analysis by Mark Meaning and Analysis by Mark Description.

Covering:

From the left Menu go to Students > Select 1 or more Students > View > Attendance.

Attendance By

This option allows you to view the Attendance for the Academic Year for the selected Student by Day, Week or Month and by AM/PM or AM/PM and Periods, the default is by Week and AM/PM.

Note: Attendance cannot be changed these pages are for viewing only.

Select from Day, Week or Month by clicking on the down Arrow to the right of the Attendance By option.

  • The Date Range can be changed by selecting from the Day Start and Day End Date selectors
  • The Grid Actions allow the table to be Copied, Printed or Exported
  • To look for a particular Mark use the Search option.
  • Tick the Show Periods box to display both AM/PM and Periods

If Comments have been added to a Mark there will be a red Triangle in the top right corner of the Mark. These can be viewed by moving the mouse pointer over the Triangle.

To read all of the Comments click on the View Comments button. This will open a pop-up with all the Comments for the selected Date Period.

A Comment can also be added directly to a ? Mark without having to add an Attendance Mark.

Attendance Percentage for AM/PM

This is a Doughnut Chart giving the Attendance Percentage for AM/PM for the current Academic Year. Moving the mouse pointer over the Doughnut Chart will also display the Percentages.

Analysis by Mark Meaning

This is a Doughnut Chart giving the Analysis by Mark Meaning for the current Academic Year. Moving the mouse pointer over the Doughnut Chart will also display the Percentages.

Analysis by Mark Description

This is a Doughnut Chart giving the Analysis by Mark Description for the current Academic Year. Moving the mouse pointer over the Doughnut Chart will also display the Percentages.

Attendance Highlights

The Attendance Highlights panel in the Student Profile page, provides a quick overview of student attendance, displaying the Number of Sessions Absent and the corresponding Absent Percentage.

To set permissions : go to Config > Setup > Roles and Permissions

The Attendance Highlights option will have to be enabled from the Framework > People > Students > New Student Details > Profile module for the appropriate roles.

Note: This check box will be unticked by default.

To see the panel go to Students > Select Students> view> Student Details > Profile

Example Attendance Highlights
  • Number of Sessions Absent:
    • This is a count of AM and PM sessions. E.g. absent for a whole day = 2 absent sessions. 
    • The number is calculated relative to the total number of sessions so far in the academic year.
    • The count resets at the start of each academic year.
  • Absent Percentage:
    • The Number of Sessions Absent expressed as a percentage of the total number of sessions session so far in the academic year.

Attendance Highlights popup:

  • Clicking on the expand icon in the top right of the panel opens the Attendance Highlights Popup, displaying a more detailed view.
  • Users can use the Export drop down in the detailed view to Export as either CSV or PDF for further analysis or record-keeping.
