Pupil Premium Status

This article explains how Pupil Premium status is calculated in Bromcom. If you want to see a list of Pupil Premium Students, you can do this from the Student List Page.

Pupil Premium Status and Early Years Pupil Premiuim can also be updated in bulk from the Student List Page. Select the required Students > Actions>Quick Edit. Choose either Pupil Premiums or Early Years Pupil Premium from the drop down to update the same field for multiple students.

Quick Edit Pupil Premiums

Pupil Premium eligibility is defined by the Government. Bromcom will add Pupil Premium status to the Student if any one of the following conditions are met.

IMPORTANT: by default many Bromcom routines run nightly, so if changes are made in a working day, you may need to wait until the next day for the changes to take affect, depending on how you have configured the routines.

If = “Yes” :

1) Any entry against Post Looked After Arrangements which can be found in the Student Record under Student Details (see Additional Details tab).

2) Ever 6 = “Yes”

3) FSM = “Yes” (i.e. currently eligible for FSM, but this in turn triggers the Ever 6 flag).

4) Member of Armed Forces marked against a Parental Contact.

5) Service Children in Education = Yes

6) Anything entered against Pupil Premium Type within the Funding & Allowance section of the Student Record. This section confirms the funding received for that Student from the government. You might use this section if for example, students arrive part way through the year.

  1. How do I remove a FSM eligible flag if student no longer entitled? End date is in but still says “eligible”

    1. Hi Stephanie

Bromcom MIS runs overnight procedures to check if such status flags like FSM need changing i.e. in your example from “Yes” to “No”. So if you only ended the FSM today, it should show as “No” tomorrow.

      Many thanks for your question.

      Kind Regards

  2. Do you have information on how to add Early Years Pupil premium information. THanks

    1. Hi Carolyn
      Thank you for your comments.
Yes you can either bulk edit this in the student list page by selecting the students and from the Action drop down choose Quick Edit. Alternatively in the Student Profile scroll down to Funding and Allowances and click the + to add Early Years Pupil Premium.
      I will update the guide.
      Kind Regards

  3. When putting in pupil premium for a deprivation child, the start and end date defaults to the current financial year. Shouldn’t the date be from when the application was originally made for the child with no end date?
If you keep the financial year date as it is recorded does this mean after 31/3/22 they will no longer be recorded as pp?

    1. Hi Jane
Thank you for your comments on this.
Can you please check the Dfe guidance on the correct dates for this.
      Kind Regards
