Use this guide to resolve School Census Errors 222, 260, 261, 262, 263 & 264

Error 260

  • DfE Validation <Governance> must be present and equal to `CO’, ‘VA’, ‘VC’, ‘FO’, ‘NM’, ‘CT’ or ‘CA’
  • Explanation: Check your Governance via Config>Administration>Characteristics

Error 222 PRU/Pupil Referral Units only

  • DfE Validation: <Governance> must be present and equal to `CO’ or ‘CA’
  • Explanation: Ensure your Governance is set to either `CO’ Community or ‘CA’ Academy via Config>Administration>Characteristics

Error 261 Academies only

  • DfE Validation: If <SchoolType> equals ’49’ then <Governance> must be ‘CA’
  • Explanation: Check your School Characteristics via Config>Administration>Characteristics, if your school type is recorded as an Academy (49) then the school governance must also be recorded as an Academy with code ‘CA’

Error 262 Academies only

  • DfE Validation : If <Governance> equals ‘CA’ then <SchoolType> must equal ’49’
  • Explanation: Check your School Characteristics via Config>Administration>Characteristics, if your school governance is recorded as an Academy (CA) then school type must also be recorded as an Academy with code 49

Error 263 CTC City Technical Colleges only

  • DfE Validation: If <SchoolType> equals ’47’ then <Governance> must be ‘CT’
  • Explanation: Check your School Characteristics via Config>Administration>Characteristics, if your school type is recorded as a City Technical College CTC (47) then governance must also be recorded as a City Technical College with code ‘CT’

Error 264 CTC City Technical Colleges only

  • DfE Validation: If <Governance> equals ‘CT’ then <SchoolType> must equal ’47’
  • Explanation: Check your School Characteristics via Config>Administration>Characteristics, if your governance is recorded as a City Technical college (CT) then school type must also be recorded as a City Technical College with code 47

Remember to click Save if you make any amendments.

IMPORTANT: in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
