School Census Errors 1570, 1573, 1575 & 1578

Use this guide to resolve School Census Errors 1570, 1573, 1575 & 1578

Error 1570:

  • DfE Validation: <UniqueLearnerNumber> must be present for pupils  aged 14 and over on census day
  • Explanation: Please ensure your Student has a ULN. This can be entered via their Student Record > Enrolment > Key Data. If you’re unsure of the Student ULN, you can obtain this via a ULN export, see here for Bromcom guidance on ULN Exports and here for DfE guidance on using the LRS

Error 1573:

  • DfE Validation: <UniqueLearnerNumber> must be present for pupils aged 14 or over at date of leaving
  • Explanation: Please ensure your Student has a ULN. This can be entered via their Student Record > Enrolment > Key Data. If you’re unsure of the Student ULN, you can obtain this via a ULN export, see here for Bromcom guidance on ULN Exports and here for DfE guidance on using the LRS

Error 1575:

  • DfE Validation: <UniqueLearnerNumber> where present must be 10 digits AND contain the correct check character.
  • Explanation: Please ensure your Student has a valid ULN. This can be entered via their Student Record > Enrolment > Key Data. If you’re unsure of the Student ULN, you can obtain this via a ULN export, see here for Bromcom guidance on ULN Exports and here for DfE guidance on using the LRS

Error 1578:

  • DfE Validation: <UniqueLearnerNumber> where present must be unique across all pupils in the extract
  • Explanation: These pupils have the same ULN as each other which is not correct. To correct go to Students>Student Profile>Enrolment>Key Data, If you’re unsure of the Student ULN, you can obtain this via a ULN export, see here for Bromcom guidance on ULN Exports and here for DfE guidance on using the LRS

IMPORTANT: Bromcom does not have access to the LRS usernames or passwords, this site is run by the DfE

For those Students identified go to the Student Profile and click on the Enrolment Tab in the left hand menu

Then scroll down on the right hand side to see the Key Data panel, click on the pencil in the top right of the Key Data panel to access/amend the ULN number for the Student.

Remember to click Save if you make any amendments.

IMPORTANT in order for the resolved error/query to be removed from the list of errors/queries you would need to generate a new Census return and remember to use save & validate for the errors/queries to update/clear.
